Get XChat from the official source

XChat is published by X Corp and the safest place to get it is the Google Play Store. That's it — no APK sites, no "unknown sources" toggling, no guesswork.

Download XChat on Google Play (package com.x.chat, Android 9.0+)

Why not just grab an APK?

You'll see "XChat APK" offered all over the web. Here's the honest version: mirror sites like APKMirror do verify signatures, but random forums and file hosts don't — and a messaging app is the last thing you want to install from an untrusted source. A tampered chat app can read everything you type.

The Play Store copy is signed by X Corp, checked by Play Protect, and updates itself. Unless you have a very specific reason (no Play Store on your device, region restrictions), the APK route buys you nothing but risk.

Quick install steps

1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android phone.
2. Search "XChat" by X Corp — check the developer name, not just the icon.
3. Tap Install, then open the app and sign in with your X account.
4. Set a chat PIN when prompted — it protects your encrypted conversations on the device.
